Terms of Use

By downloading or using tastd (iOS application and the website share.tastdapp.com), you agree to these Terms of Use. Please read them carefully.

tastd is operated by Hugo Vangay (sole proprietor, Paris, France). See the legal notice for the full publisher details.

1. Acceptance

By creating an account or using tastd, you confirm that you:

Are at least 13 years old (or 15 if you reside in the EU, under the GDPR).
Have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement (or have parental/guardian consent).
Accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. Description of service

tastd is a community platform that lets you:

Discover places (restaurants, coffee shops, bars) around you.
Stamp places you visit, add notes and photos.
Create public or private collections of places, alone or collaboratively.
Follow other users, like their posts, and receive real-time notifications.
Share your collections via public links (share.tastdapp.com).

The service is provided "as is" and may evolve. Features may be added, modified, or removed without notice.

3. Account creation and security

Authentication is handled by Sign In with Apple or Google Sign In. You are responsible for the security of the identifier used to sign into tastd. Notify us immediately at support@tastdapp.com if you suspect unauthorized access.

One user = one account. Multiple accounts created to bypass a block or suspension are prohibited.

4. User content (UGC)

Ownership — you retain ownership of all content you publish (photos, notes, recommendations, collections, etc.).

License granted to tastd — by publishing content, you grant tastd a worldwide, non-exclusive, transferable, royalty-free license to:

Store, host, index, and display your content in the app and on public sharing pages.
Reproduce and adapt it in the formats required (photo compression, thumbnails, OG images, etc.).
Promote it within the service (e.g., posts featured in "Around you").

This license ends when you delete the content, except for content re-used by other users (collaborations), which remains visible anonymously.

Warranty — you warrant that you hold all necessary rights to the content you publish, and that it does not infringe third-party rights (copyright, image rights, trademarks, etc.).

5. Prohibited content and behavior

You agree not to publish or distribute via tastd:

Unlawful, defamatory, hateful, sexually explicit, or violent content.
Harassment, threats, or insults toward other users.
Other people's personal information without consent (doxxing).
Spam, unauthorized advertising, or disguised affiliate links.
Fake reviews (positive or negative) sponsored by a business or competitor.
Photos that are not yours or that you do not have the right to publish.
Content intended to deceive or impersonate another person or brand.

You also agree not to:

Attempt to access, disrupt, or compromise our servers, APIs, or platform security.
Scrape, copy, or redistribute tastd content without written permission.
Use bots or automation to generate artificial traffic, likes, or follows.
Circumvent moderation, blocking, or reporting mechanisms.

6. Moderation and reporting

tastd reserves the right to moderate, hide, or remove any content that violates these Terms, and to suspend or delete the accounts of the users involved — without notice if circumstances require.

You can report inappropriate content via the "Report" button in the app, or write to support@tastdapp.com. We review reports manually within an average of 72 hours.

You can also block another user from their profile, which mutually hides each other's content.

7. tastd intellectual property

The tastd name, logo, app design, sharing pages, promotional visuals, and source code are the exclusive property of Hugo Vangay. Unauthorized reproduction is prohibited and may result in penalties under the French Intellectual Property Code.

8. Third-party services

tastd integrates third-party services (Supabase, Apple, Google, Mapbox, Amplitude) whose use is subject to their respective terms and policies. In particular, Apple imposes its standard EULA on any app distributed via the App Store, which applies in addition to these Terms.

9. Supporter subscription (if applicable)

Some features may be offered via a paid subscription ("tastd Supporter"). Payment is handled exclusively via Apple In-App Purchase. Refund policies are Apple's — any request must be made directly via reportaproblem.apple.com.

The subscription renews automatically unless canceled at least 24h before the end of the current period, in iOS Settings → your Apple Account → Subscriptions.

10. Account deletion

You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete my account in the app. Data erasure is described in the Privacy Policy (section 5).

tastd may suspend or delete your account in case of violation of these Terms, with prior notice when possible.

11. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

tastd is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that:

The app will operate without interruption or error.
Information about places (hours, photos, indicative prices) is accurate or up to date — it comes partly from Google Places and from users.
Recommendations from other users are reliable — use your own judgment before traveling.

To the fullest extent permitted by French law, Hugo Vangay shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of tastd.

12. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Hugo Vangay from any claim, loss, or expense (including legal fees) arising from your use of tastd in violation of these Terms or the law.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. Significant changes will be notified via push notification or in-app message. Your continued use of the app after notification constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

14. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by French law. In case of dispute, and after attempting an amicable resolution, French courts shall have exclusive jurisdiction (Tribunal judiciaire de Paris for non-consumer disputes).

For consumers residing in the EU, in accordance with Article 14 of Regulation (EU) No. 524/2013, you may also use the European online dispute resolution platform.

15. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
